The movie begins with Zoey and Ben. They are still haunted by what happened in the first escape room. Zoey believes they must stop Minos, the organization behind the games. She convinces Ben to go with her to New York City. They want to find proof and shut the group down.
When they reach the city, strange things begin to happen. They end up in a subway train car that locks itself. It is another trap. The train turns out to be the first escape room in a new game.
Soon, they meet others in the train. These are not new players. They are all past survivors. The group includes people who survived earlier versions of the escape rooms. Each person carries trauma. Each room is designed to trigger those past memories.
The group faces deadly challenges one after another. From electric traps to acid rain and quicksand, each escape room is harder than the last. Trust becomes difficult. Emotions run high. Some players sacrifice themselves. Others hide their secrets.
As Zoey moves forward, she begins to question the real goal of the game. In the final room, she learns that Minos is trying to study human behavior. They want to design a perfect puzzle.
In the end, Zoey and Ben survive once again. But just when things seem safe, the movie delivers a twist. The game might still not be over. The flight Zoey boards may itself be another trap. This ending keeps the door open for a third film.
Cast
Taylor Russell plays Zoey Davis, a smart and brave girl who lost her mother in a plane crash. She wants to bring justice and stop the escape rooms. Logan Miller returns as Ben Miller, Zoey’s close friend and fellow survivor. He is loyal and always supports Zoey, even in tough times.
