Storyline
Set in the “Sonic the Hedgehog” cinematic universe, the series focuses on Knuckles the Echidna’s journey as he adjusts to life on Earth. He decides to mentor Wade Whipple, a dimwitted deputy sheriff from Green Hills, teaching him the ancient ways of the Echidna warrior. Their mission takes them to a bowling tournament in Reno, Nevada, where Wade aims to reconnect with his estranged father. Along the way, they face numerous obstacles, including a former agent of Dr. Robotnik who is determined to steal Knuckles’ powers for his own nefarious purposes.
Cast
Idris Elba lends his voice to Knuckles the Echidna, portraying the hot-headed and serious anthropomorphic red echidna with super strength. Adam Pally plays Wade Whipple, the well-meaning but somewhat clueless deputy sheriff whom Knuckles trains. Ben Schwartz reprises his role as the voice of Sonic the Hedgehog, the blue speedster. Tika Sumpter returns as Maddie Wachowski, the Green Hills veterinarian and adoptive mother figure to Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails. Christopher Lloyd provides the voice of Pachacamac, the ghostly elder of Knuckles’ tribe. Rory McCann plays “The Buyer,” a former agent of Dr. Robotnik seeking Knuckles’ power. Cary Elwes appears as “Pistol” Pete Whipple, Wade’s estranged father and a championship bowler. Rob Huebel and Paul Scheer feature as bowling commentators Dylan Beagleton and Gary N.
